The initial taught which struck me when I finalised on this blog was ‘Did Valmiki and Vyasa scripted the most renowned pieces of the Indian literature keeping in mind the present generation?’ I mean anybody who reads any of their works wiz Ramayana or Mahabharata can correlate their life’s and the course of events which happened and are happening in their life’s.
Don’t worry i am not going to script down any of the above mentioned stories again and disrespect the content and literature in it, but this is a humble yet hopeless but my level best attempt in correlating the present generation to the same stories.
Now, if we compare the relationship between a student and teacher and take the reference of the great epic, we can easily correlate it to the relationship between “Drona” and “Arjuna”, the later being the guru and the other being the student. No matter how much the teacher teaches his student, it’s all left upto the student to grasp what ever had been taught to him and make the guru proud. If we compare the same relationship to the present time we will have 5 million examples, starting with relationship between you and your teacher. For example the story behind “Rama Krishna Parmahamsa” and “Swami Vivekananda”!!!!!, even though Vivekananda had great skills in him it was parmahamsa who channelized his ideas and made him a renowned persons across the world.
Secondly, my next comparison deals with a delicate topic and i am sure out of the 100% readers at least 99.9% would curse me for doing so, but, there is something which is compelling me to write it...
“KUNTI”
The mother of the 5 great heroes’ (PANDAVA’S) of the epic and the illegitimate mother of somebody who is greater than the pandavas ‘KARNA’. If kunti wouldn’t have experimented with the boon she acquired, Karna would have been her first legitimate son and the greatest hero of the epic instead of Arjuna. Likewise in the present era also, if things are done in a legal way there will not be any child who would get abounded or become a nameless child or lawariss....
So, the deeds and actions of Mahamatha Kunti resulted in the birth of the great but cursed ‘KARNA’
Karna is considered as a great warrior, scholar and any other word which would describe him in the best way but still he is called a ‘Sutha Puthra’ which haunted him till his last breath in the battle of kurukshetra. Not 1 but as many as 3 curses haunted him day in and day out which made him a helpless person in his life.
Likewise, everyday in the newspapers, televisions we come across at least 1 story of a child abounded by his mother lying near a dustbin or a railway station. Who knows if the same child would have not been left alone, would have became a great scholar or for that a great human being who would have taken the best care of his own parents.
One major quality which is remembered in him apart from his social activities is his friendship with Duryodhana....
“DURYODHANA & KARNA”
This relationship is one of the most talked about affairs till date and i am sure will be spoken in the near future as well. I mean, any best friends at some or the other point will compare them to this great and epic relationship. So, Instead of comparing this to the greatest friendship stories across the world, i will take my own example, me and my best buddy.
If i was duryodhana (the corrupted guy) he is the karna who apart from knowing me in and out he still stands by my side in every moment of life, in fact i was the one who introduced him to all the worldly pleasures ( Cigarettes, Whisky, flirting) but at end of the day all he says is ‘ Yeh dosti hum nahin thodengae....thodengae hum magar, tera sath na chodengae’.
For that matter he sometimes is my driver and i am his passenger and during our travel he gives me all his global gyan which turns out to be truths most of the time. This very example can be related to Lord Krishna and Arjuna during their time in the kurukshetra.
Now, again let’s get back to the normal world and start correlating few examples to the epic.
1. On your first date we are the most happiest people in the universe and will be in a hurry to our girl/ guy and all of a sudden we are caught by the traffic police for the rash driving and we are helpless, we pay him money and after that we are not even left with money fill in fuel. ( This incident can be compared to that of the curse owed to Karna)
2. There would have been some or the other incident where you would have got insulted knowingly or unknowingly by some or the other person because of our recklessness and attitude. (This incident can be related to Duryodhana and the course of events which he encounters after meeting Draupadi- Wife of the Pandavas....)
After all, putting in all my brains and knowledge about the history, all i wanted to convey was don’t ever in your life get disappointed or get upset with the happenings in your life...because when gods can take them Y CAN’T WE TAKE THEM AGAIN’ and move on in our life’s.....!!!!.....
Regards,
Kalyan.
